“TITAN” will be my 11th full-length album.
Unlike my past works, this one feels more like it was “born” rather than “made,” and that expression resonates with me more. One day, I suddenly came up with a unique approach or method, which led to the creation of this album. It feels like the various elements of music production that I’ve cultivated over time―what had existed as separate points―suddenly connected effortlessly. It was less about combining instruments and sounds to create music and more about the sounds themselves shaping the music, almost on their own.
If I were to compare the previous process of creating music, it was like cutting, carving, assembling, and painting wood to form something new―where the wood was merely a material. However, with this album, it felt more like a living tree that grows and extends its branches naturally, as if it were alive and growing on its own.
I would love to share this world of sound, where simple tonal elements create a natural, powerful, and mysterious sense of unity, with everyone. If possible… the bass is a particularly important element in this album, so I hope you can enjoy it in an environment that can deliver strong low frequencies, at full volume.
With this work, for the first time, I feel like I’ve been able to create the music I truly wanted to express.
「TITAN』は私にとって11枚目のフルアルバムになります。
私の今までの作品とは違い、「作った」というより「生まれた」という感じで、その表現がよりしっくりきます。ある日突然、ユニークな手法を思いつき、それがこのアルバムの制作につながりました。
私がこれまでに培ってきた音楽制作の様々な要素、これまで点と点として別々に存在していたものがすっと繋がった感覚がありまして、それは楽器や音を組み合わせて音楽を作るのではなく、音そのものが自ら楽曲を形作っていく、そんなイメージでした。
以前の音楽制作のプロセスを例えるなら、木を切って、彫って、組み立てて、色を塗って、新しいものを形作るようなもので、木は単なる素材に過ぎませんでした。しかし今作では、まるで生きている樹が自然に枝を伸ばし、自ら成長していくような感覚でした。
シンプルな音色の要素が、自然で力強く、神秘的な一体感を生み出すこの音の世界を、ぜひ皆さまと共有できたらと思っています。そして願わくば、、低音はこのアルバムの中でも特に重要な要素なので、低音のしっかりでる環境で爆音で楽しんでいただけたら幸いです。
私はこの作品で初めて、自分が本当に表現したかった音楽を作ることができた気がしています。 – KASHIWA Daisuke –
