Tangerine Dream violinist Hoshiko Yamane, a world-renowned artist with many facets including solo work and composition, and KASHIWA Daisuke, known for his soundtrack for the film The Garden of Words, his electronica productions, and his work as an engineer, have come together to create a dream collaboration album.
This album, consisting of 14 tracks, begins with “idea sketches” based on Hoshiko Yamane’s improvised performances. The recording periods and instruments used are intentionally inconsistent; acoustic and electric violins are freely chosen according to the mood and sensations of each day. As a result, each piece possesses a clearly distinct tone and atmosphere, highlighting the rawness and individuality unique to improvisation.
KASHIWA Daisuke then boldly deconstructs, reconstructs, remixes, and rearranges these pieces, adding entirely new interpretations and drawing out different aspects and charms from the original material.
The classical musical sensibility of Hoshiko Yamane intertwines with the electronic and oriental atmosphere of KASHIWA Daisuke, resulting in an ambitious work that vividly showcases the individuality of both artists.
